What is Mesotherapy and why do I need it?

Mesotherapy is a term used for an injection technique that was developed by Dr Michel Pistor in France in the 1950’s. It is a medical and cosmetic procedure that involves injecting small amounts of various substances into the skin using fine needles.

Mesotherapy is a wonderful versatile treatment. We  use mesotherapy for various purposes including skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, cellulite reduction and localized fat reduction.

Depending on the specific purpose of the treatment the substances injected with mesotherapy can vary from vitamins and minerals, hyaluronic acid, lipolytic solutions, growth factors and platelet rich plasma.

How can mesotherapy benefit you?

As mentioned above mesotherapy is a very versatile treatment. At AesthetiClinic we love using mesotherapy for skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. We use a world renowned cocktail from Fillmed® Laboratories called NCTF HA®. This is an amazing cocktail of vitamins, minerals and hyaluronic acid.

If you are struggling with dry and dull skin this is a must have treatment. Dr Gerda’s favourite area to treat, is the delicate eye area. Injecting the delicate eye area with the NCTF HA® cocktail rejuvenates the skin, stimulates collagen and softens the lines and wrinkles.

If you suffer from hair loss, mesotherapy is a great treatment to stimulate blood flow and deliver nutrients directly to the hair follicle.

What can you expect during this treatment?

A numbing cream is applied 15-20 minutes before the procedure. The chosen cocktail is then injected by Dr Gerda. In some areas you can expect mild discomfort but in general this is a relatively pain free procedure.

You may experience slight swelling and redness in your skin after the procedure.

Small bumps where the injections where administered may be noticeable, however, downtime is minimal, and you'll be able to resume your regular activities the next day.
